And He said unto them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" - Mark 16:15

Willful Ignorance. The Worst Kind.

Verses like this are really striking me these days:

Hosea 4:6

6 My people will be destroyed,
       because they have no knowledge.
    You have refused to learn,
       so I will refuse to let you be priests to me.
    You have forgotten the teachings of your God,
       so I will forget your children.

  • The ‘knowledge’ is the bible. The word of God.
  • The ‘lack of knowledge’ is not speaking of ignorance or not understanding the bible. This is speaking of WILLFUL REJECTION of the Word of God.

It wasn’t that they didn’t know – it was that they didn’t want to know!

This is what is bothering me lately! {Sorry, but I feel a little rant coming on}

People who hear the Word and reject it’s teaching. I am  mostly talking about CHRISTIANS who follow false doctrine knowingly & reject the true Word of God! People who sit in the pews & hear the truth but deny it… and then go out & follow preachers & teachers who preach & teach false doctrine mixed with a little bit of ‘Jesus saves’.

Why does this have to be? Why is it so hard to accept the whole truth?

He died for us. He shed His blood for us. He could have called His angels to His at any moment while He was on the cross. But He didn’t because He chose to die for us.

Why is it so hard to accept all of the Words in the bible?

We shouldn’t pick and chose which verses we like & which verses we want to overlook.
